TELEVISION

Here are just a few highlights from my work in television.

PEEP SHOW series 1 (2003)

After directing two 15 minute pilots of PEEP SHOW (originally titled POV TV) I got to direct the first series of what has become a 'comedy classic'. Who would have thought that something so out there as a Point-of-View shot narrative comedy could become so popular.

DERREN BROWN (2000)

My first ever job in TV, and a joy to direct. Lead director on three one-hour specials and first series. Working with consumate performer Derren Brown we took magic out of the studio and onto some visually amazing locations.

THE LEGEND OF DICK AND DOM (2008)

My third directing gig in BBC Children's television. A month spent filming in Black Park forest at Pinewood meant I got to know every path and track through those trees. An ambitious programme, a spoof medieval epic, it involved many VFX sequences, building medieval villages and Lord of the Rings riffs. And working with the late, great Python Terry Jones.

RAPPIN' AT THE ROYAL  (2005)

After submitting a one page A4 pitch to Channel Four Music & Arts, I got to direct this feature length documentary following the teaching of writing short rap musicals and the process of staging them for a live audience at Stratford East theatre (where Joan Littlewood's Oh, What A Lovely War was conceived and staged).
